Is 120 g enough for micro hair extensions?

We often use 120 g for clients who want a natural, balanced starting point. We confirm the final weight after assessing density, target length and haircut.

Weight guide · 8 min read

We often recommend 120 g when the goal is clean length and fuller ends rather than maximum volume. We never choose by weight alone: we assess current density, target length, haircut and color transition together.

GoalPossible weightOften suits
Natural length100–120 gMedium-density hair with slightly sparse ends
Noticeable fullness120–160 gHair with strong density or a larger difference between layers
Very long, full finish160 g and aboveHair with strong roots that can support the plan

Why do light shades need extra care?

Color transitions are more visible in blonde and light brown hair, so we plan toning and shade matching alongside the weight.

What do we check in dark hair?

We assess shine, texture and density through the ends so the extensions move like the natural hair.

Salon note: We first determine the density your hair can comfortably support, then confirm the weight needed for your target look.
